PILT is a vital source of funding that our rural communities rely on to provide essential services. They have budgeted to account for this funding, and this is a promise the federal government cannot afford to break. For many counties throughout the 3rd Congressional District, the loss of PILT funds would be devastating. There are broad expanses of public lands throughout many of these counties, and PILT helps bridge the budgetary challenges created by the inablilty to collect tax revenues in those areas. There should be no more #BrokenPromises from the federal government.
