PITBULLS! Please read and share. Animals in general react in one - TopicsExpress

PITBULLS! Please read and share. Animals in general react in one of two ways, fight or flight. When an animals instinct is to fight, it doesnt allow its attacker the chance to get back up. This means it will fight until there is no movement, which generally means death. Im sorry if this sounds harsh, but its true. Humans have knowledge that killing is illegal, animals dont. Most of the time, if an animal is in a fence, it is there for its own protection. My dogs would probably get hit by a car, so they are fenced in. This being said, I have now restrained them to my back yard. There is nowhere for them to go. If someone gets into our fence, and they are outside, they have nowhere to go to get away. I have left them no choice but to fight. So why would anyone let someone they love climb a fence and play in a yard that has dogs. People say, oh he was only four, well Ive seen several young kids being mean to animals. I know to tell the kid to leave them alone, and if they dont stop I can pick them up and cart them away. An animal will tell you to stop as well. The only difference is if you dont, they attack. For those of you who dont keep your animal on a leash, dont get mad when someone is walking their dog and that dog feels threatened when your dog comes running toward them. Its the same case. My dog is on a leash and has nowhere to go. Of course he will feel threatened when another dog is running and barking at us. His instinct is to protect me and himself. Ive ran with him quite a bit and he wont bark at anything. Every house that has a dog, I can hear them barking, but he keeps to my side with no bark. Its only when another dog comes at us will he take defense. So please, dont let your dog run loose. I have two ankle biters in my neighbor hood that run loose and come to my front door and antagonize my dogs. I hope this helps people understand that its not the dog. If not put most pit bulls next to a lab. I know several that are taller and bigger than my dog. There are other breeds bigger as well. And to end this rant, Ive been bitten by several small dogs and a couple of cats. Ive never been bitten by a larger dog.! Ive even been confronted by a bull mastive and knew to walk away when he barked. I have more stories to prove that its not the dog!
