PK was a colossal bore, especially after all the hoopla about Hiranis maverick winning direction and feel good formula! Found the premise of the plot downright dumb & amateurish, naked alien with perfectly chiselled six pack, gigantic elephant ears and fake green lenses crash-landing in touristy Rajasthan replete with multi-colored turbans, folk song and men in mustaches, the stereotypical Indo-Paki romance against a picturesque foreign setting that inevitably sours at some point, the done to death digs at the andha viswas, dhongi Babas and money laundering of our Indian society (much better rendered in OMG, possibly made at half the budget of PK) told as superficially as only Bollywood is capable of and now excels in marketing to an equally enamored audience who are reminded to leave their brains behind in the name of wholesome family entertainment, standard slapstick one-liners and cheap below the belt wise cracks, coupled with an insipid musical score & bloody sloppy editing that makes the movie nothing short of a marathon sermon/teary eyed preaching by a Godamn alien. And what a bakwas climax. The Pakistan Embassy in Belguim made to look like a shoddy Shaadi bureau, a heated TV face-off, where the anchor is weeping copiously, a bomb blast that tries to establish the most obvious enemy across the border angle, the alien making tapes of a woman he secretly loves before flying back into outer space, the female lead inevitably turning into a writer in the end, finally winning back her fathers validation (oh yes, even the strong female protagonist ultimately needs a male pat on the back!). And, Aamir...well, its high time our touching 50 superstars stop stripping down to their ankles, and then covering their privates with a transistor. Not impressed! At all. PS: Would be cooler to see Ranbir Kapoors torso, at the end. Cmon people, weve waited three, unending hours for the real deal, and I hear you folks killing it at the 100 crore club;)
