PLACEMENTS ALERT: Vehicle Dynamicist, (DETAILS BELOW) Department: Engineering Company Name: Racing Engineering Driver Simiulator Engineer (contact SEC placement team for details of this role) Racing Engineering is offering an internship within its engineering department to participate in the development of its driver simulator. This opportunity allows the student to be in direct contact with our GP2 race / data engineers and simulation group to continue the project of our own driver simulator tool based on RFactor. A good knowledge of this software is therefore requested. During his project, the student will mainly work on the following aspects: -­‐ Vehicle modelling: improvement of all car parameters model (tyres, suspension, aerodynamics,...) to match the real car behaviour. The candidate must have the theoretical knowledge related to these fields. -­‐ User Interface: improvement of the tools allowing the user to input parameters and/ or visualize results. This could include programming work (matlab,excel, vba). -­‐ Simulator hardware:improvement/modification of the existing tool. The student should be responsible and capable of working on his own. The chosen person has to be motivated by driver simulator technology. Correctly spoken and written English is requested (knowledge of French and Spanish will be a bonus). The knowledge of data acquisition softwares (Wintax4, Motec…) would be an added value to the student’s profile as well as previous experience in motorsports (work placement,FormulaStudent...). The project activity will take place in Racing Engineeringoffices, in Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Cadiz), Spain, and doesn’t include travels to the race events (possible attendance to test session depending on Race calendar). The duration of the training period will not be shorter than six months and the company will take care of the accommodation of the student.
