PLANS OVER laid parked out thru a snappy :26.4 opening quarter in his latest and he ultimately paid the price en route to a 7th place finish. That is Chad Rozemas comment in the HP Journal for tomorrow nights last race. I like Chad. He has some personality, and he is learning a bit about handicapping. He isnt just loading onto the logical faves like Gangle and Hamilton always did. And he tries. But.... If he wants to put out info and picks, he should watch the actual races, and not just read the program. That is what he is getting paid to do. And he clearly isnt doing it. Again. This gets back to what Garnet and I talked about this summer and wrote a couple of articles about. See what isnt on the program and take advantage of it. In the actual race, which I have included the video below, Drury chased Useful Hanover out hard, Trevor had the post outside him, still cleared, but Drury made the retake, and then Trevor had to stay in. Thats the rules of the game when you are a driver. I get that. LETS WAIT AND SEE returned to WEG in his latest and posted his best finish ever on this circuit by finishing 2nd at this level. The Lyle Macarthur student lost his cover quickly and was left to do the work on his own from the outside but he supplied the perfect second over tow for the eventual winner. His 1:54 mile over a track that was off is solid and he looks like the best if he can duplicate that performance. Chads comment on Lets Wait And See. Looks like the best? I guess, if you didnt watch the race he was actually in. In fact, Lets Wait and See got the benefit of what Drury did, while Plans Over got screwed. Would Plans Over have beaten Lets Wait and See? I dont know. Maybe. Maybe not. But as for this week, Trevor goes right to the top, and if he lets anybody go, he makes an immediate retake, or he will park them all and try to go wire to wire, which he has with this horse before. If Lets Wait and See, the likely chalk, wants to race first up, he will have to get by Trevor this time. I say he wont, and they might both spit the bit at the tote board, possibly setting it up for something else at a big price. Plans Over got the worst of it last time, because Drury was on one of his crazy front end missions with a horse that didnt even belong in the race and should be racing at a B track. It was something Trevor had no choice but to take, and I guess he thought he would carry him far enough to pop the deuce and get the jump. He didnt. He collapsed right in front of him and backed him through the field when A Mac rushed up with another rat and Drury tried to park him too. Before he had a chance to get back out, Allard pulled the 4 hole and Trevor was busy trying not to run over Drury and couldnt get out of the hole. Until it was way too late. He actually got backed through the entire field, lost all momentum and didnt even get free until late, when he had some pace and finished okay. Not great, but okay. He is a noted front ender anyway. Lets Wait And See got the benefit of all that, although he did race well. But, take Useful Hanover out of that race, and Lets Wait And See likely doesnt show that line on the program. It was just bad luck and good luck. That evens out over time. But the point remains. Plans Over paid the price for being behind a stopping rat with a brain dead driver, not because he left hard for the front and then faded on his own. That is the race you see if you watch the replay. Maybe he should try and do that. https://youtube/watch?v=y-bGe3a7fes
