PLEASE BE EXTRA CAREFUL EVERYONE!!!! BAY VILLAGE, Ohio – Someone is shooting cats in Bay Village with a pellet gun, seriously injuring at least two beloved pets within one week of each other. Police are urging residents in the area to keep their cats indoors at night. Beth Tropf was horrified to wake up the morning of June 21 to find someone shot her eight-year-old cat, ‘Sassy,’ in the chest and leg with a pellet gun outside overnight. “It was not fully light yet, but I could see her paws were very bloody,” Tropf said. X-rays show the metal pellets that hit Sassy in the chest and leg. Luckily, sassy survived. “I thought it was an isolated incident; now I hear it seems to be a pattern of activity, and it’s disturbing,” Tropf said. Just a week later, and a few houses away, a one-year-old female cat, named Kiki, was also shot. Both cats were shot off Lincolnshire and Sandalwood Drives. “She’s an outdoor cat and she came running in and collapsed and at first we thought she got hit by a car. Then we found out it wasn’t a car and they said she got shot, twice,” said Kiki’s owner, Megan Kiss. People in the area are worried about their pets. “It was just very sad and even if it wasn’t our cat we would feel bad about the whole situation, because a lot of our neighbors have cats and they were not happy about it, at all,” Kiss said. A Bay Village police detective said they suspect the cat shooter may be a juvenile, but no one has been arrested. fox8/2013/07/15/police-warn-cat-owners-after-pets-shot/
