PLEASE BE KIND - The next time you come across a missionary from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, please keep this in mind. These young men and women, give up two years of their lives to serve God. They are only allowed to call home on Christmas and Mothers Day. They wake up at 6:30 each and every morning, study the scriptures each and every day and dedicate their entire lives to the Lord. Only after they have served their service time, are they allowed to come home and to be rejoined with their families. In less then four years, my very own son, Robert, will be one of these young men. Please keep this in mind the next time that you meet one of our missionaries. Can you imagine not being able to speak to or see your own child for two full years, except for twice a year? P.S. I will be the mom at the very end that is unable to control herself. I guarantee!!! In less then 3 hours, my son is about to leave for Palmyra, NY. He is only 14 yrs old and yet he has made this decision on his own. He is going to help baptize those who have gone before us and who may have not had the chance to do so. Already, he is sacrificing his time for others. How many other 14 yr olds do you know that would do this?
