PLEASE HELP - REPOSTED - SEE NOTE BELOW Somebody posted this on my Middle Village Memories (mvmem) website. Can anyone help? MY FRIEND AND i ARE TRYING TO REMEMBER THE NAME OF THE STORE THAT SOLD EVERYTHING FROM PLACE MATS OR UMBRELLA STANDS TO PRICEY CHINA AND LAMPS. IT WAS ON THE SIDE OF KOPPS BAKERY, NEAR 73RD PLACE. HELP!! Heres what we now know so far: * THE ADDRESS IS 73-17 METROPOLITAN AVENUE * THEY SOLD: PLACE MATS, UMBRELLA STANDS, PRICEY CHINA AND LAMPS, DISHES, FLATWARE, END TABLES, PICTURE FRAMES, AND GIFTWARE Im still looking for: 1.The full name of the store (Possibly Lamps - or something - Unlimited - often referred to as the Lamp Store) 2.. The name of the owner(s) 3. The year it opened and the year it closed (so far we know it was there some time during the 70s and that it remained there until some time in the late 90s - and subsequently, Smarty Pants was located here) 4.. Any other relevant information that is directly related to this building PLEASE NOTE: TO KEEP THIS EASY TO READ - I AM GOING TO CONSOLIDATE HELPFUL INFORMATION IN WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR AND REPOST THE QUESTION WITH WHAT IS STILL NEEDED When complete the information will also be posted on mvmem (for permanent retention) Special thanks to Carol Aponte Stavola who got us off to a great start and to each and every one of you who shared your recollections. It is very much appreciated and will be a gift of memories for generations yet to come.
