PLEASE READ AND FEEL FREE TO SHARE AND COMMENT….. This is how I was treated by my previous employer, San Juan Regional Medical Center and I just wanted to share. It has come to my attention several times in the responses in which I have received throughout this Fair Treatment process that upper management, my immediate supervisor, the director of Personnel and the coworker in which I have had disagreements with continue to disregard any take on my side of what led up to my resignation. No matter what I said, this particular individual’s word took precedence over my own. I was told by many of my coworkers to stand clear of her as this treatment was not new. I realized that working with this individual and my immediate supervisor was not in my best interest and attempted to transfer from my department several times without success. I was and still am willing to take responsibility for my actions however merely wanted others to do the same. I did not believe that this facility would allow someone to be treated as I have with the core values in which they continue to instill in all of its employees. Surprisingly, I was wrong. I was told that I did not uphold the core values of the institution? How is being told by my immediate supervisor to “fear her” upholding the core values? How is being retaliated against with harsh remarks, and bullied by my coworker upholding the core values? To include how I dress, the size of my breasts and the kind of perfume in which I wear. There have been many times that my coworkers have made comments to me about how unhappy they are working for my immediate supervisor and with this individual however, because they fear for their jobs, they stay silent and continue to work under this harsh environment. It saddens me to think that they feel they are unable to state how they feel or how they are being treated because they fear retaliation from above. My main encounters have been with one individual and I am aware that this individual has attempted to and succeeded in the termination/resignation of more than one other employee. I truly believe that this was the intention of both her and my immediate supervisor in my situation as well as others. Once again I do not feel that my future at this facility should have been dictated by two individuals without my side being taken into consideration. I feel that I was targeted, retaliated against, and bullied and hope that no other individual endure what I have at an institution that is so predominant in our community. I will continue to hold my head high and share my story in hopes to help others believe in themselves and stand up for what is right. I attended the last step of the Fair Treatment process today and not surprisingly, nothing came out of it. I also just spoke to a coworker and asked her why some of my previous coworkers did not have to attend the meeting and she said that my previous manager stated, “You don’t have to go meet with the committee, I did a good enough job on my own and she was pretty proud of herself”. IS THIS UPHOLDING THE CORE VALUES??? IF IT IS, I AM SO GLAD I AM NO LONGER EMPLOYED THERE.
