++PLEASE READ++ Dear Animal Lovers, Clients, and Community, We want to personally address the video scandal that has saddened our veterinary clinic, and outraged the community. We share your outrage. The Emergency Pet Hospital of Orlando emphatically clarify: we never condoned the actions of our former employee and her mistreatment of animals while employed by our facility. We absolutely condemn the abuse and mistreatment of animals, be them our patients or any animal, anywhere. As a veterinarian, Dr. Hassan has devoted his life to animals. He runs a 24/7 clinic to provide emergency care when your pets need it most for that very reason. He has spent countless hours laboring to save animals lives, not to mistreat or abuse them. Much misinformation is spreading about this incident, and we want to clarify. The person shown in the video has been terminated and is no longer an employee. The clinic is not only participating in the investigation against the former employee, we are also reviewing our own video surveillance to aid in any way possible. We do not tolerate animal cruelty by any member of the staff. In addition, to ensure that this could never possibly happen again, we’ve hired consultants to review our supervision and training protocols for staff. We have a 100% commitment to providing safe and quality care at this facility. From Dr. Hassan: I want to apologize to all of the pet owners and animal lovers who were rightly shocked by the cruelty on the video. I was similarly shocked and sickened. We will go forward in the upcoming weeks and months working hard to clear the name of this facility, which believes in the ethical treatment and care of animals, and works tirelessly against their mistreatment.
