PLEASE READ & SHARE/ FOREVER LOVED SESSION: Last week I went to Rady’s Children’s Hospital in San Diego California to visit 3 new clients whom have just been added to TEAM LOVE SONG. All of them were very sick and one was just freshly diagnosed with cancer. Ugh, cancer. My personal note to Cancer; I hate you so much. You hurts so many and break people down. You damage families emotionally and physically and do your very best to hurt people I love. That being said... It was about 12:30pm on Tuesday when I walked down the halls to get to my clients room. Meeting a new client is always very exciting because no two stories are ever the same. Often, when people meet me they are surprised that I want nothing in return but to help. These clients are so brave. Some put on their “game faces” when they talked to me, and some are just broken at life’s circumstances. My new client, Jordi a 17 year old Senior from Temecula was faithful... That seems to be the best word. On Tuesday September 9th, 2014 Jordi went to see her dads Doctor. She had been feeling nauseous in the mornings, light headed & hot for about 2 weeks. She also lost about 10 pounds in two weeks which was made extremely obvious being she is only 5 feet tall. She then had lab work done to try to unmask the reason for her symptoms. The following day, Jordi’s Father received a phone call from the doctor stating her white blood cell counts were abnormally high. The Doctor said it could be an infection or Leukemia and advised them to rush down to the ER at Radys Childrens Hospital. Together, as a family, they left quickly just as their Doctor said. Later that day, Jordi and her family found out that she had Leukemia and was immediately admitted to the hospital. They waited to find out what kind of Leukemia she had and the course of action which needed to be taken. Things were moving rather quickly, while the family learned more about this disease. Thursday, she had a biopsy and bone marrow aspiration. The results determined that Jordi had Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). She was given two treatment options to fight the disease while she was then connected to an IV. Her family felt blessed to finally have a diagnosis but extremely overwhelmed at what their future was to hold. On September 9th 2014 Jordi went in and got her Broviac/Hickman line surgically placed and, together with her parents, choose between the standard chemo route or the study (experimental) route. After prayer, they decided to start the experimental treatment. This treatment entails 5 days of heavy doses of chemo. Jordi just completed her week round of chemo. It has made her nauseous and emotional but she is extremely determined to beat this. Jordi has a plan, her family has a plan, and they are faithful that the outcome will be a positive one. They will start rebuilding cells during the next 3 weeks with chemo shots in her back occurring every Friday. Jordi will be living in the hospital for the next 4 to 6 months. Jordis hair has always been very long, her older sister cut it last week so it wouldnt be such a shocker when it started falling out. I love the new style!! Here is a bit from Jordi’s journal. The faith of this young lady is simply a remarkable. I certainly never expected to get Leukemia, or Cancer in general for that matter. The more I think about it and the more time that passes, I feel truly blessed by this circumstance. I’ve seen family, friends, and even strangers come together, discuss, stop whatever they may be doing, and take time to pray for me. Just one tiny piece of the puzzle that is life. Many people are shocked that I could be positive and faithful at a time such as this, but to me this question is, How could I not be? God sent His one and only son to suffer and die the most agonizing death for me and my sins. In addition, He loves me so much that He gave me the best family a girl could ever dream of and through this process I’ve gotten to really understand their love for me. My friends have stepped up to the plate to become some of my top supporters and that has been so heart warming to see. Ive prayed to God many times telling Him that I want to further His kingdom and further Him no matter what the circumstances may be; I wanted to and still want to reach the least, the last and the lost and be able to evangelize. When my parents told me about friends and family that have turned to the Lord due to my present state, that’s when it hit me. This is God’s awesome plan for me, this is the least I could and can do. I was reading in the book of Job, that God gives all things, they are all His and whether He wants to give or take is completely up to Him and I am one hundred present perfect with that. I’ve been told that I am a fighter and a role model and this is a huge, huge honor. I hope to continue to make everyone proud, but most especially God. Lord, if by giving up my vanities and petty worries and simply rejoicing in you and all of your vast glory will further your kingdom and get out your message, then I am more then blessed to be your messenger. I am asking you all for some hospital pick me up goodies. Something that will show Jordi, you care and you are praying. Something to show her you all are believing for her on the days her faith is low. Please private message me for our studio address. Jordi, thank you for letting me be apart of your journey. I look forward to sharing more of your story.
