PLEASE READ THIS POST ENTIRELY FROM BEGINNING TO END. This was recently brought to my attention by a few members from this group and I decided this definitely needed a share. I am very ashamed that I was unaware of this. But am very thankful that they brought it to my attention. Held my babe a little closer tonight....no bun deserves this. If you love your bunny or are against animal cruelty then I suggest you stay far away from Whole Foods! I am fuming right now over this! For those of you who dont know how serious this is I will share a personal experience with you....I rescued the love of my life Max 8 months ago from a Meat Rabbit Farm up in Maine the living conditions were absolutely unacceptable the cages where so small they could barely turn around and none of them were used to the human touch. I would say there were about 50+ maybe more rabbits there but we where only able to take two home Max and Ruby they were both severely underweight an Maxs ears were all torn up he also has two claws COMPLETELY missing. Ruby didnt have to much damage other than chunks of fur missing and also like max, underweight. They are now loved, spoiled, fed properly, and allowed to roam freely. But for those other rabbits there fate unfortunately was not as great at all. we went back up about a month ago to rescue a few more and we were told every single one of them had been slaughtered.
