PLEASE READ if you live in Val Vista Lakes If you dont live in the Val Vista Lakes neighborhood, please ignore this because it has no relevance to you or your family. Please attend the Val Vista Lakes HOA open meeting at 6:30 pm on Thursday, December 11th to protect our neighborhood. See why below: _______________________________________________________ Hi, neighbor--Jeni Grossman of Spinnaker Bay here, I want to call your attention to something you otherwise might not learn about--until it is too late. I have become aware of a situation that is going to affect your family as much as it will mine. There is a group of men who are attempting to take over our HOA for their own benefit and financial gain. These men are Mike McMullens, Doug Keats, and Keith Farber. Mr. McMullens has hired an attorney, mobilized some of our VVL neighbors, and videotaped the last HOA executive board meeting. These three men are ready to change the nature of our neighborhood for their own purposes. What they seem to want to do is to turn Val Vista Lakes into a country club with tennis being the major focus. This may entail eventually raising our HOA fees beyond what I and most people who live here can easily pay. It means they may intend to hire a staff of people who will turn our clubhouse into a country club for wealthy folks who want to play tennis every day. I dont know about you, but I want the clubhouse for birthday parties, family reunions, classes, swimming and community meetings. I dont play tennis, so raising my HOA fees will not benefit me or my family. If our fees get too high, I believe I would have to move. You might be faced with this decision as well. On Thursday, December 11th, PLEASE come to the open board meeting in the West Wing of the clubhouse to voice your opinion or support those who speak against this takeover. The men who are attempting this hostile takeover have already broken FCC laws and violated our CC and R rules in order to achieve their goal. They are asking that 7 of our elected board members be kicked off the board leaving only the three of them on a five-member board so they can have the majority of the decision-making power. Allegedly, Mike McMullens illegally sold HOA memberships to people who do not live in Val Vista Lakes perhaps to widen the number of tennis players available to him. When confronted, Mr. McMullens took the money he had collected out of his personal bank account and gave it to the HOA board. The HOA has not cashed his check because it is evidence of an alleged crime against our HOA. Had Mr. McMullens not been caught, would he have kept this money for his own use? Mr. McMullens is now on our HOA board! His neighbors elected him after he slandered members of the last board to get himself elected. He has convinced Doug Keats and Keith Farber to join him in his vision for Val Vista Lakes. Mr. McMullens intends to sue our HOA board. Is it a conflict of interest to sit on a board that you are also suing? After Mr. McMullens allegedly hacked into our HOA website to copy off 1,500 of our private email addresses, I and others filed an FTC report because he got all of our email addresses illegally, then used a slanderous e-mail campaign to win his election to our HOA board. He never mentioned to any of his neighbors though that he may be filing a lawsuit against the Val Vista Lakes HOA. That is money from OUR HOA dues--yours and mine. Even if he doesn;t win a suit against our HOA, our HOA dues are being used to defend ourselves from Mr. McMullens. I know one thing these men will say is that the Mormons have rigged this election so they will have a majority of like minded board members who can vote down the ideas of others. I am not a Mormon, and I am just as interested in NOT losing my neighborhood as this gang of three is in taking it over. I want my HOA dues to stay low. Do you? I will go elsewhere if I want to play golf or soccer or eat lunch in a fancy country club restaurant. These men could do the same. I want where I live to be a home--not a country club that I and most of our residents will not use as such. I am going to be at the HOA board meeting at 6:30 pm on Thursday, December 11th in the west wing of the VVL clubhouse. Will you be there to stop the hostile takeover of our neighborhood? Your presence is URGENTLY needed. Its now or never! Regards, Jeni Grossman
