PLEASE SHARE EVEN IF YOU CANT MAKE IT YOURSELF We are really trying to get your support for this event in March. We had a lot of fun at it last year. Many of us arranged to meet fellow classmates from our schools and colleges and made it into a bit of a get together as well. Its an open event so if you want to try to persuade friends and family to come along you can. Do try to come along and spread the word to as many people as you can. Its on the 30th of March, Mothers Day (for those that have forgotten), in the Grounds of Blackrock College and Willow Park. The Rock Run is now entering its second year and following on from its success in 2013 we are encouraging all of you to come along and participate in what is a great fun day out with all the family. Its a fun run so we try to cater for everyone whether they want to walk, run or even crawl around the traditional Blackrock College and Willow Park cross country track. As some of participants from last year will attest, it is challenging but very doable. Registration will start from 11.30 and continue until 2 pm with rolling starts every 15 minutes. This means that we can send people off round the track on a timed basis as they arrive on the day. The rolling starts also add to the excitement of not knowing the winners of the various categories until the last racer has crossed the line. There will be an awards ceremony in the New Sports hall shortly after the last competitors have crossed the finish line circa 2.15. There will be prizes galore from the overall fastest winners, to the fastest parent, parent and child combination and so on. Something to note for the younger participants is that they have the option of just completing one lap if they want. We have once again employed the professionals, Sports Timing, to look after the time keeping and results aspect of the event. Please do make the effort to come along on the day. You wont regret it! We will also be able to accept entrants on the day. We look forward to seeing you, your children, friends and family on the 30th.
