PLEASE SHARE :Manhunt underway in Niagara County PORTER, N.Y. (WIVB) – Niagara County Sheriff’s Deputies say they’re working with a host of agencies to find a pair of people who entered the U.S. illegally by hijacking a boat. Sheriff’s Deputies say a charter vessel picked up two people at a marina in Ontario just before noon after being told it was for a fishing trip. While on the water, the two people pulled knives on the captain of the boat and ordered him to take them to shore in the United States. The boat dropped the men off on shore just east of Fort Niagara where they fled by foot. Police say be on the lookout for two men in their mid 20’s, with one being 6-feet-tall, 175 pounds in a blue coat and white Eskimo hat. The other being roughly 5’11” tall, 200 pounds in a black sweater, black track pants and white Nike sneakers. Both are said to have French accents, so anyone with information is asked to call Niagara County Sheriff’s Office dispatch at 716-438-3394 or the criminal investigation Bureau at 716-438-3327. Niagara County Sheriff’s are working with the U.S. Coast Guard, Customs and Board Protection, Department of Homeland Security Investigative Division, New York State Park Police and the Niagara Regional Police.
