We at COA Youth & Family Centers are currently hiring for the following position: OPEN POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT Title: Security COA Site: Goldin Center FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Earnings: $9.50 to $10.00 per hour Start: Immediate This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment at the Goldin Center for visitors and staff by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel. This position is a part-time, year round position and is not eligible for benefits. Main Job Responsibilities • Greet everyone that enters the Center in a friendly, professional manner: o Enforce the metal detector policy in compliance with legal requirements and o Determine a visitor’s destination/reason for entering - ensure visitors fill out necessary forms and program participants are checked in. • Inform violators of agency policy and procedures, warn them of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and apprehend or expel persons engaging in suspicious, unsafe, or criminal acts. • Patrol property on a regular interval. • Sound alarm and/or call police or fire department in case of fire, presence of unauthorized persons, criminal activity, etc. • Pro-actively maintain ongoing communication with program staff to ensure smooth running of programs. • Model appropriate behavior at all times. This includes developing and maintaining appropriate professional relationships and boundaries with youth, colleagues, parents, visitors, etc. Qualifications • High School Diploma or equivalent. • At least 21 years of age. • Minimum of one year experience as a security employee. • Ability to remain calm, respectful, and alert under pressure and in emergency situations. • Good verbal communication and conflict resolution skills. • Mature and professional. • Experience working with at-risk youth preferred.
