PLEASE stay away from the banks of the rushing rivers and streams! You just never know if the banks are stable!!! From Larimer County Sheriffs Office this afternoon....Poudre River Rescue Larimer County Sheriffs Office deputies, Emergency Services, Larimer County Search & Rescue, and the Larimer County Dive Rescue are currently searching for a 14-year old boy reported to have fallen in the Poudre River while fishing with family or friends. The initial unconfirmed information is that he slipped into the river around 1145-1200 this morning and has not yet been found. Rescue units are in the area attempting to locate him now. The location the incident began is at or near the Ouzel campground/picnic area of the Poudre Canyon, approximately 12 miles west of Teds Place northwest of Laporte, in Larimer County. A nearby male jumped in to assist the boy, but was unable to help him. That man was pulled out of the river and is being treated by medical personnel for resultant medical issues--medical status is unknown. Multiple calls for help were received by authorities. Additional information will be released as soon as possible.
