File photo By Our Reporter Dr Rugunda was appointed the prime minister on August 18 following a lone reshuffle in which the then Premier Mbabazi was dropped by President Yoweri Museveni The word out of Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda’s office is that he is now receiving between two and five MPs daily. The reason MPs are queuing to meet the man just weeks into his new role is because they want to catch his eye so that he seconds them for ministerial jobs. Officials in the know say the MPs point at the millions lost to middlemen in failed lobbying in the past, which allegedly saw their names scrapped off tentative cabinet lists by former Prime Minister John Patrick Amama Mbabazi. Some lawmakers who spoke to the press in the corridors of Parliament said it was better for them to lobby Dr Rugunda early instead of placing their hopes on risky and unreliable hassle of bribing their way to cabinet. Dr Rugunda was appointed the prime minister on August 18 following a lone reshuffle in which the then Premier Mbabazi was dropped by President Yoweri Museveni. Efforts to reach Dr Rugunda for a comment on the subject proved futile as our repeated calls went unanswered.
