PNM recognizes Santa Fe businesses, groups Public Service Company of New Mexico recognized five Santa Fe businesses and organizations Friday for their energy-saving efforts. The Home Depot, State Employees Credit Union, Santa Fe Public Schools, Brewer Oil and St. Elizabeth Shelter were honored as “PNM Energy Efficiency Stars” at a breakfast at La Posada de Santa Fe Resort & Spa. The businesses and organizations have implemented a variety of energy-saving initiatives. The Home Depot, for example, replaced old fluorescent lighting with newer, energy-saving lights that resulted in a PNM rebate of $30,325. “Based on their energy savings, they can expect to save $50,500 on their annual PNM bill,” PNM said in a news release. Since 2009, businesses in Santa Fe have received more than $1.3 million in rebates through PNM programs aimed at helping businesses make energy-efficient upgrades, PNM said.
