POLICE IN ACTION In keeping with the Ministry of National Security’s drive to strengthen law enforcement operations to more efficiently combat crime, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service conducted overnight anti-crime operations that resulted in the following successes: An anti-crime operation conducted in the South Western Division resulted in the arrest of three persons on outstanding warrants, five Fine Payment Tickets were issued, six Stop and Search Forms completed. In Point Fortin, two persons were arrested for narcotics; 20 traffic violation tickets were issued and one person arrested for driving under the influence. In the Southern Division, three persons were arrested and one .38 pistol was recovered after a report of robbery with violence in Marabella. Another person was arrested in connection with a report of larceny in San Fernando. The quick response by Western Division Police resulted in the arrest of one man with a 12 gauge home-made shotgun after Del Peters was shot on his right forearm. In an unrelated incident, another man was arrested with a pistol loaded with eight rounds of .9mm ammunition in a vehicle that was also seized. The man was subsequently charged for the offences. Four men have been detained by members of the North Eastern Division Task Force in connection with the murder of Reno David of Gonzales, Port of Spain. Investigations are continuing.
