POLITICS AND THE SPONSORSHIP OF TERRORISM In my reaction to the - TopicsExpress

POLITICS AND THE SPONSORSHIP OF TERRORISM In my reaction to the Australian negotiators recent verdict on who-and-who are the sponsors of terrorism in Nigeria, I made it clear that: as a Muslim, I am more interested in the Islamic institutional failure and system collapse that gave birth to theocratic fascism, scholars of literalism, the re-emergence of Khawarijee and their violent posture. To me, this is the primary, as the issue of fund is technically secondary. A brother; Adamu Tilde, one of those whose virtual co-habitation here in Zuckerville is self-fulfilling, shared the update, and one of commentators argued otherwise. The commentator hypothesized that sponsorship is the major fuel of terrorism, and if disengaged, terror in the name of Islam will drastically reduce. I want to fault this line of thinking once more, with two separate, though intertwined arguments -politics and the sponsorship of terrorism, and Terrorists ideology of expropriation of the rich. Politics and Sponsorship of terrorism To think that politicians will stop funding war, crisis or insurgencies is utopia. From Kishasha, to Mogadishu, to Moro in Philippine, Narathiwa in Thailand, to Darfur, to Gwosa, and Buni Yadi, there is no place where politicians are not culpable of funding insurgencies. To them, it is a material factor, a tool needed to divide and conquer, a political machinery to appeal to masses emotion -giving them (masses) what they laugh at, while they (politicians) laugh to banks. To think a moral appeal to politicians will stop them from funding insurgencies is to show an acute ignorance of the law of power. Where religion bigotry to fuel terrorism is infertile, politicians will find other divide and conquer mechanisms like racism, ethnicity and all whatnot. As a Muslim, my dream is to see a living space where Muslims will be intellectually emancipated from the pawns of politicians, from emotional laxity that often make us to exercise violence at every slightest perceived provocation, from unbridled faith supremacy that engineers bigotry, from literal scholars that have seen theological textual provisions as a copy-and-paste legal framework. And lastly, structuring an Islamic institution capable of crushing (intellectually, socioeconomically and militarily) the adherents of barbarism in the name of Islam. This is what I believe is achievable. Let the politicians find another divide and conquer mechanism to fund, not religion, not Islam! Ps: I will treat Terrorists ideology of expropriation of the rich later.
