POLITICS IS NOT A GAME FOR FEEBLE MIND One thing I have learnt about the game of politics is that it requires strength, both physically and otherwise. If you are a feeble-minded person, you will find it very difficult to key into the game of politics. There are decisions you need to take that pitch you against your brothers, sisters, family members and sometimes religion. Imagine a brother contesting election and his blood brothers campaigning against one of their own. What do you think is responsible for it? It is a matter of strong in character and the ability to move on the opposite direction. Do you think it is weak people that took such decision? Capital NO. The game of politics is like witchcraft (for those who are members) or the military and you take order from the Oga at the top. He gives direction and others follow. He refuse to bend at the corner and everyone follow even if it leads to the river. He sees the weather is dark indicating that the storm is near but he doesnt give a damn. This is my little analysis about politics. If politics is not a game of decision, how will a man who knows he will fail decided to sell their only landed property just for Councillorship but only realize himself when he lost it? How come people who are very convinced in their mind that the election will not favour by all indices, went ahead with strong campaign with huge resources going down the drain? How come a man who cannot win his ward step out with posters for the House of Rep position? To me, it is gut but sometimes it looks ridiculous. Inspite of all this, we as individual still have our own decision to take when it come to the issue of governance. We all have a role to play on who emerges our leaders either at the local, state and national level. We must like soldiers develop that uncommon gut to decide who should leads us in 2015. Let your conscience guide your decision. Do not take a decision that you will regret like we normally experienced in Akwa Ibom State after every local government election. Do not vote base on geographical location or on religious ground. They may not be the best for our people but vote according to the direction of your conscience. Get involve in the business of governance and that can only be possible when you are a potential voter. Finally, get a Permanent Voters Card in preparation for the next election. With your vote, you can change the status quo.
