PORT STANLEY FESTIVAL THEATRE GETS FEDERAL GRANT . . . The federal government is providing $440,000 toward a nearly $2 million project that aims to add 50 seats to the theatre, plus a new backstage area, production offices and workshop space for scene construction, prop storage and the like. Work is already underway on the Palmer Room, a public space named after donor Dorothy Palmer. And the theatre also reinforced foundations on the west side of the building earlier this year, temporarily displacing a library that occupies space in the building. “Were absolutely thrilled,” said theatre board president Bob Halle after the funding announcement.
