POSITION : TELESALES Reports to Branch Manager Purpose Of The Job To support the new business activity of the sales team by way of prospecting for leads and narrowing down on potential BDE customers Key Responsibility Areas - Organising database - Generation of leads through telecalling - Updation of Telesales module - Followup with sales team on lead status Tasks & Duties For Each KRA 1. Organizing database Planning -Understand the key industry segments contributing to each product. -Identify the sorces of data related to these industry segments. . Activity - Procure database from identified sources. - Keep track of industry and market news to spot business opportunities early through various media. Communication - - Communicate with various industry associations,database management organizations for procurement of identified database. - Read business magazines,newspapers,industry journals and browse to update on latest industry news. - Reports from EDP such as productwise market segment report,lost and declining reports. 2. Generation of leads through telecalling Planning -Understand the productwise sales performance of the branch and plan telecalling activity based on products focused by salesteam for new business additions as part of regional/company strategy -Make a list of follow-ups for the day based on telesales module updates. Activity - Use effective ways of getting through to the right contact for increased effectiveness of the telecall. -Use effective probing skills to get relevant information from the contact which would be required by the salesperson during the salescall. - Based on the information collected ,telesales to judge if the lead can be a prospective BDE client. - Convert the prospect from cold status to warm or hot status and then pass on the lead to sales. - Pass on the lead to respective Area sales head with key details and a clear cut appointment with the client. -Work and improve constantly on the telesales skills in order to make effective use of the opportunities. Communication -Mails to prospects thanking for the appointment,which would also serve as a reminder. - Sales Lead mail to Area sales head with all required inputs. 3. Updation of telesales module Planning -To be conversent with all features of the telesales module . Activity - Update telesales module with all necessary details at the end of every call. - Ensure quality of information keyed in. - Use the reports available in telesales module for better planning and control. - Maintain data on performance against MBO’s . Communication 4. Follow up with sales team on lead status Planning -Maintain a record of leads passed on . Activity - Update status reported by salesperson into telesales module. - Escalate to Area sales head in case of non response from salesperson. - Get feedback from salesperson on quality of lead and areas for improvement and work constantly on telesales skills. - Work with area sales head in identifying areas of concern in actioning of leads by salespeople which includes systematic follow up and effective selling skills being used. - Provide reports on salespersonwise conversion rate to area sales head in order to train the salespeople who need improvement and enhance their selling skills.
