POST 42/14 : SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT/TRAINING OFFICER X3 REF NO: EP09/2013 SALARY : R 138 345 per annum (Total salary package of R211 779 per annum conditions apply) CENTRE : Free State, North West, Eastern Cape REQUIREMENTS : A three year Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Arts, Social Science, Education or equivalent qualification coupled with relevant experience. Knowledge of the Working for Water policies and procedures with regards to beneficiary training and social development interventions. Department procedures and prescript/policies, knowledge or experience in wellness interventions, HR practice & procedures, administrative procedures, financial management and personnel management. Ability to work under pressure with difficult people Responsible and loyal, honest and reliable the ability to work long hours voluntary and with limited supervision Ability to share knowledge and good interpersonal relations Sound organising and planning skills, general and good communications skills. Computer literacy, counselling, listening, writing and human relations skills DUTIES : The incumbent will be expected to implement social development and training interventions within Natural Resources Management projects. Liaise with training organization and evaluate service provider profiles, short list service providers and conduct service provider’s interviews, keep track records if service providers are accredited by relevant SETAs, capture service providers in the database, check accreditation of service providers, request quotations from service providers and forward for approval and facilitate assessment of training providers. Monitor compliance with regards to WFW training standards feedback reports, ensure that trainees have filled training evaluation forms, regular site visit to ensure quality and relevant training is offered, compile list of trainees and the outstanding training and capture all the trainees 15 that still needs a particular training on a database. Coordinate primary health session within each contractor’s team in conjunction with approved institutions, facilitate and distribute to staff, SDWs, peer educators for information and referral purposes HIV/AIDS information, condoms, posters, and pamphlets and also events calendar. Ensure that beneficiaries participate in commemoration days. Coordinate HIV/AIDS session within each contractor’s team in conjunction with an approved institution at least once every six month. Monitor the level of community awareness; endure the establishment of health educational programmes through inter-sectorial collaboration. Coordinate other events in line with national health calendar. Monitor continuously peer educator programme outputs and outcomes. Coordinate peer educator forum and the forums quarterly meetings. Monitor the toolbox talks within projects and implement the necessary interventions. Participate in Community Advisory Committees and ensure proper recruitment of contractors is being followed.
