POWER TO THE PEOPLE VS POWER TO FINANCIERS, CLASS WARFARE NOT RACIAL VOTING- T&T politics has been dominated over the last 50 years by MINORITY FINANCIERS, who BUY Political Parties and become the De Facto Government a BLOODLESS COUP, this is how the BUSINESS CLASS CONTROLS. As a result we have had BILLIONS IN CORRUPTION as there is a quid pro quo of CONTRACTS and SPECIAL CONCESSIONS demanded from the GOVERNING PARTIES. So in the present system we have no control the FINANCIERS RULE, from Ish and Steve, Jack, Duprey and the FACELESS. So it is understandable that, 1) FINANCIERS like Jack, and the BUSINESS COMMUNITY will oppose MAJORITY MPS as it moves power from them to the people. They would prefer MINORITY FINANCIER to rule like THEMSELVES. 2) Media connected to CONGLOMERATES who are themselves FINANCIERS will not SUPPORT, so we would see frequent appearances of Jack or even IPL\PNM, Jack son is already well placed in PNM. 3) It is strange the MSJ is OPPOSING as it means they support the dominance of FINANCIERS in the POLITICS which has traditionally stifled Liberal, Labour, or Left Wing leaning Parties as witnessed by the frequent breakups from ULF to PRESENT and the OTHERWISE dismal showing of parties of LABOUR ORIGIN except UNC\PP. Is it that our LABOUR UNIONS now see themselves as BIG BUSINESS? 4) MSJ is now disingenuously calling for PR, they must know PNM does not support PR as did Dookeran, and a SPECIAL MAJORITY IS NEEDED so why not PRESSURE PNM? Is that therefore a RED HERRING? 5) It is easier for FINANCIERS to control in a scenario like the PRESENT SYSTEM where the parties have a close number they then can mobilize 10% and together with HUGE SUMS OF MONEY to also make offers that cannot be refused, become the KING MAKERS and tilt the BALANCE OF POWER, it would be more difficult under RUN OFFS as larger numbers would be needed with 50% vote rather than a simple majority. RECALL would also mean that MPS would have to answer to the voters and not only to them. The KING MAKERS ae in fact the DE FACTO KINGS. 6) CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM is in the pipeline which would further curtail the POWER of MINORITY FINANCIER RULE which is UNDEMOCRATIC and I am curious why MSJ is not out front PROMOTING this, again maybe UNIONS now see themselves as BIG BUSINESS now. 7) LIMITED TERM LIMITS would also make it difficult to control Party Leaders as Duprey did, by having Carlos John in UNC\PP and Montiel in PNM as the ONE MAN PARTY will be a thing of the past. 8) PNM was a beneficiary of the MINORITY SYSTEMS which is a CONSERVATIVE PARTY MECHANISM, and is PRO BUSINESS, as in the case of 18-18 where UNC\PP had more votes and where you have splits in the OTHER PARTIES it BENEFITS PNM, UNITY and COALITIONS across RACES and CLASS does not favour CONSERVATIVES as they are a GO IT ALONE PARTY so the RUN OFF tendency to encourage COALITIONS will be resisted.
