PRAY FOR OUR CITY: Our mayor (here in Jackson) suddenly passed away recently and we now find ourselves on the horizon of a special election for a new mayor to finish out his term. I am convinced that sometimes God allows circumstances (such as this election) to arise just to show CHRISTIAN FOLKS exactly what is in THEIR HEART! I never get into political debates and such although I DO vote. I always watch quietly, listen and observe peoples movements and/or successes AND failures as it relates to politics. However, I can HONESTLY say that I have never seen such hatred and strongly over opinionated verbal dialogue being spewed from the CHRISTIAN FOLKS during these last few weeks surrounding this election. It is almost as bad as the presidential election! What is even MORE disappointing is how people desire to lay their claim to having their right to defend the candidate of THEIR choice while yet subtly AND openly slandering other candidates and attempting to DENY others of that same right. It is HYPOCRISY at its finest! If someone has a choice of who they believe to be the BEST candidate to run our city, then thats THEIR choice. But we can NOT deny people the choice and neither should people get all swollen and upset when someone talks about THEIR choice of candidate when they engaged in THE SAME MANNER of behavior themselves! Some folk TRULY need to look in the mirror. Through ALL OF THIS, I have just WONDERED if some of us promoted and presented JESUS to the people as HARD as we are promoting OUR OWN personal choice for our political preference and presenting it to the people, oh WHERE would we be????? Some people would absolutely NOT be found witnessing for CHRIST but theyll go above and BEYOND for politics. Go figure! Im telling you all, this campaign has been BRUTAL! The CHRISTIAN FOLKS will cuss you out about THEIR candidate and then go in the church Sunday morning bucking and shouting like they hadnt said a thing! And we wonder WHY there arent more coming into the church. If we are truly CHRISTIAN, we should not desire to shame GOD in OR out of the church, politics or otherwise! Nevertheless, PRAY for us here in Jackson, Mississippi. We dont need anybodys personal preference. We need THE RIGHT person who WILL NOT turn a deaf ear and blind eye to the PROMINENT problems in our city! Help us now, LORD! In Jesus name! (WARNING: I humbly ask that no one comes to this page with their opinions on their preference for candidate OR their personal political agenda. Thats what YOUR personal page is for. I already KNOW who Im voting for and I love you just the same! I really do!)
