PRAY and OBEY The emotions of the weekend: The decision to own, carry, and discharge a weapon has caused many families and friends to suffer and affected our lives forever. Sometimes the pain turns to thoughts of retaliation and the cycle of pain and suffering continues. It is time to stop addressing the symptoms and begin to diagnose and treat the problem. ***Actions begin in the mind and then they are carried out. MY PRAYER - O Jesus, who searches minds and hearts, bring to an end the violence of the wicked and make the righteous secure. MY ACTION – To obey the direction of Jesus and yield to his will to answer this prayer. WHY – I represent my father, Jesus Christ my savior and king, my first love. How will the world see and know him if I am, still and take no action? How will the real problem be addressed if I am afraid? What fear do I have when death is only the door by which I enter my eternal home? This is not my home I am only passing through. But I still have accountability to my Jesus to obey his direction while on my journey. Luke 12:4-5 Our theme from our high school/college lesson was “Choices and Consequences.” There was a section on gang membership. One point was each gang has a sign that identifies their gang affiliation. One of the students noted some interesting facts that in general, gang members followed their leader, they were loyal and willing to die to help another member, and there is a strong bond- strong love. PROBLEM – When what we seek is not be built on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ, the structure will not last, but during its time of action, it will leave a path of death and destruction. Time to address the problem such that mind and hearts are focused on Jesus. That the bond and love are directed to the only true power - Jesus Christ our savior and Lord. QUESTION - If others do not see Jesus in his children 24/7 then…..?
