PRAYER GUIDE JANUARY 25 – READ ISAIAH 64:2-4. Anyone want to argue the point? Read verse 4 again. Really? No one has heard? I have; and I hear from people all the time telling me they heard voices, messages, signs, etc., from ‘their god’ – they ‘saw’ things, visions, stuff moving, they perceived – sensations, feelings, lights, comforts, guidance, etc. – from a whole variety of ‘gods’ that were not the God of the Bible. So what do we do with that? God, later in Jeremiah (and earlier in Isaiah,) answers those questions directly – he doesn’t refute the experiences necessarily – just the claims – those ‘things’ – those ‘feelings’ – those ‘signs’ – those ‘messages’ may be real as real – but their origins are of ‘false gods’ not the One true God. So today pray along these lines for you, for our church community, for our leaders and for our younger brothers and sisters in Christ – pray for genuine and clear spiritual discernment. Again – Paul writes the believers in the New Testament to ‘test the spirits to see if they are of God.’ There is only One God. But there are countless agents and entities that ‘wanna-be’ or want you to believe they are God. Don’t fall for it.
