PRAYER PAUSE: "Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us," this is a portion of the prayer You have taught us, Sweet Jesus. But it is hard to forgive those who have offended us and cause deep hurt not only to ourselves but to the people we love as well. Cruelty is rampant in this world, how can we be not angered? But still You say forgive as we have been forgiven and You have every right to tell this to us for You had done this on the cross at a moment when every ounce of Your being can curse and can be angry to those who made You suffer physically, emotionally, intellectually, spiritually. Beloved Lord, help us see hope that there is still goodness in people who behave badly, remind us that You created them and all Your creations are good. Build Your compassion and love in our hearts so that Your kind of forgiveness can flow from us to the people who offend us. By our own strength, by our own conviction, our Gentle Lord, it will be hard for us to forgive, but by Your grace, it is not impossible to do. Thank You, Dear Lord, for never giving up on us and continuously forgiving us for our daily offenses. As You forgive us, may we also forgive so we can be freed from the imprisonment of unforgiveness and come to You with a heart which is free to love. Amen.
