PRAYER PRODUCES GODWINKS “Thanks to godwinks, things are looking up! My Dad passed away in a tragic accident and I lost my job, so I spent considerable time in prayer. Right after that a friend invited to fly me from Wisconsin to Ft. Myers, Florida to unwind and de-stress for a few days. I was sitting in the sun and struck up a conversation with a man named Randy who came to clean the pool. He said he had also lived in Wisconsin, in the 80s. I asked where and he replied that it was just a small town. For some reason I pursued that with questions ... what town ... same as mine ... what neighborhood ... same as mine ... what street ... and what do you know, he had been friends with my Dad! When he said that he actually knew my Dad, I jumped off my chair and ran up to this strange man and just started hugging him! I couldnt believe it! What are the odds of that? I had never been to Ft. Myers, just met a complete stranger, who knew my wonderful father! Upon return home I began praying about my lack of employment. I needed a certain amount of money every month to pay my mortgage and bills. Id been frantic and was having daily panic attacks. Then, out of the blue, an old friend whom I hadnt seen or talked to for 8 months, showed up at my door and offered me a job! He didnt even know I was out of work! I went to the interview and learned that in the first month I could earn the exact amount of money I needed for my mortgage and other bills! I’m ready for a great new year!” Cheryl •••• So, what can we learn from Cheryl? Prayer produces godwinks! To paraphrase the 16th century philosopher William Temple, “When I pray godwinks happen.
