PREACH THE LIGHT RECIEVE THE LIGHT The SAME God who is able to say “Let there be light” in a physical sense (Genesis 1: 3) can also bring light to shine out of darkness in a spiritual sense (Matthew 4: 16, quoting Isaiah 9: 2). The light of the gospel shines outward as the gospel is preached. But it also shines inward on the hearts of those who receive it. We can see that the gospel is God’s light in both ways: the truth proclaimed publicly and the change effected inwardly. Witnessing the transformation of others is a key part of recognizing that the good news of Jesus is truly God’s message of salvation. Every aspect of the gospel demands that the person who believes and proclaims it must be sincerely committed, oriented to service for others, and ready to endure hardships faithfully. We must not only preach the gospel, we must believe what we preach. We must practice what we preach, otherwise I am a hypocrite. The gospel will bring about a change in those who recieve it!
