PREAMBLE We the members of the Ebologu 2008 Association, Utagba-Uno, Kwale, Delta State, having firmly and solemnly resolve to live in progress, unity and harmony as one indivisible and indissoluble association under Almighty God, it is dedicated to the promotion of the Ebologu 2008 Association, inter school solidarity, understanding, peace and equality. The constitution is subjected to the Ebologu 2008 Association, utagba-Uno, Kwale, Delta State. ARTICLE 1 SECTION 1 SUPREMACY 1. This constitution is supreme and its provisions shall have binding force on all members of the Association 2. If any law, directives or action of the association is inconsistent with the provision of this constitution, this constitution shall prevail and such other law, directive or action shall, to extent of its inconsistency be null and void. 3. The association’s official color shall be green and white. ARTICLE 2 SECTION 1 NAME AND LOGO The design of the logo is circle carrying the name of the association with eagle and star boldly drawn at the front. SECTION 2 The motto: shall be “PROGRESS” ARTICLE 3 SECTION 1 AIMS AND OBJECTIVES 1. To foster an effective member 2. To maintain and protect the constitution of the association 3. To instill the necessary cordial relationship among members 4. To cater for the advancement member in the association and beyond 5. To educate the member of the association through the publication of magazines with the objective of the association 6. To promote social intellectual and recreational interests of its members 7. To afford member the opportunity of gaining employments and experiences in organization, preparatory for greater roles 8. To circulate to members from time to time notice of a particular reference to the aims and objective of the association 9. To maintain and protect the ethnics of members 10. To see the problem of any member and find a lasting solution to it ARTICLE 4 SECTION 1 MEMBERSHIP The association shall consist of ordinary and honorary 1. ORDINARY MEMBERS An ordinary members shall be mandatory for all Ebologu 2008 Association 2. HONORARY MEMBERS These shall include only the executive of the association that are approved by members of the Ebologu 2008 Association PATRONSHIP 1. The chosen Teacher from school is automatically the chief patron of the association for the year and must be approved by the members of the association 2. Patrons shall be drawn from well meaning individuals. They shall support the need of the association financially and morally as the need arise. ARTICLE 5 SECTION 1 MEMBERSHIP PREVILEDGES 1. Only members in article 4, section 1, and subsection 1 are eligible to vote for the approved member provided by this constitution 2. Append signatures to referendum requesting extra- ordinary general meeting and impeachment 3. Shall participate in recognized meetings and functions of the association 4. Any member of Ebologu 2008 Association that is getting married shall visited with sum of money 5. Any bereaved member who loss his/her father or mother is entitled to be visited by delegate of not more than six (6) members with some of money 6. In the event of the death of any member, the association members shall pay a condolence visit with a gift to the parents or guardians ARTICLE 6 SECTION 1 MEETINGS 1. The general meeting of the association shall be held at least twice a year 2. Notice of general meetings shall be put by the public relation officers (P.R.O.), one week before the meeting 3. A quorum shall be formed in he general meetings when the secretary general or his/her assistance and two third (2/3) of registered members are present 4. In case of unavoidable absence, a prior notice in writing shall be made to the president through the secretary general for approval, failure to attend meeting shall attract a fine of N100.00 5. Late coming attracts a fine of N50.00 6. Disturbance during meetings shall attract a fine of N50.00 7. All fines shall be paid to the P.R.O who would in turn give the money to the financial secretary after each meeting ARTICLE 7 SECTION 1 FINANCE Finance of Ebologu 2008 Association shall be derived from the following avenues A. INTERNAL AVENUE All Ebologu 2008 Association members shall contribute a sum of N300.00 per month to the bank account or financial secretary. However, this shall be subject to review as need arises B. EXTERNAL AVENUE 1. This shall be through sponsorship, donations, sales of publications and any other source as deemed expedient. 2. There shall be an audit report at the end of every year by the audit committee 3. An account shall be opened with any bank deemed fit by the association and the signatures to the account shall be the president, financial secretary and treasurer SECTION 2 1. Loans shall be granted to financially handicapped members of the association on the recommendation of the president and the financial secretary 2. Such ARTICLE 8 SECTION 1 EXCUTIVES OFFICERS OF THE ASSOCIATION There shall be executive officers for the association who shall have the power to conduct the affairs of the association and make by laws in accordance with the provision of this constitution. 1. President 2. Vice President 3. Secretary General 4. Assistance Secretary General 5. Speaker 6. Deputy Speaker 7. Financial Secretary 8. Treasurer 9. Welfare 10. Spiritual Father 11. Provost 12. Public Relation Officer 13. Co-ordinate SECTION 2 TUNURE OF OFFICE This shall be the period members of the association decide to change executive and a letter should be put forward by any officer wishing to resign stating clearly the reasons for such. ARTICLE 9 SECTION 1 CODE OF CONDUCT 1. Indecent behavior during meetings and other offences shall attract a fine depending on the degree as deemed necessary by the disciplinary committee 2. Failure to meet financial obligations by members shall cause such a member to lose his/her right to participate in benefits and activities of the association as may be deemed necessary by the executive council 3. Registration letters of officers shall be forwarded to the president who will in turn forward it to the house during meetings for acceptance or refusal. SECTION 2 The president and other members of the executives shall without prejudice to any other provisions of this constitution be deemed removed from office. 1. If a motion of impeachment is moved by any member with grant from such removal and shall receive a simple majority of the members. 2. An officer under investigation shall notice is read before the house till the resolution of the issue. SECTION 3 AFFILIATION This association shall be free to affiliate herself with EBOLOGU GRAMMAR SCHOOL or related organization groups or individuals seeking to encourage the study and practice of some courses within and outside the country. Such affiliation shall be made known to the members of the association. The association shall be affiliated to Association of Ebologu Grammar School Utagba-Uno, Delta State, Nigeria. ARTICLE 10 SECTION 1 AMENDMENTS This constitution is subject to review and amendment of parts there of from time to time, provided such decisions from the review are supported by two/three (2/3), majority of registered members sitting at the general meeting. OATH OF OFFICE I_____________________________________________________do hereby solemnly declare that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to the Ebologu 2008 Association Utagba-Uno, that as the______________________________________________________of the association, I will perform my function honestly and to the best of my ability, faithfully and in accordance with the constitution of the association.
