PREGNANT SUDANESE CHRISTIAN WOMAN SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR APOSTASY—Media report that on Sunday in Sudan, an Islamic Court sentenced Sudanese Christian believer Mariam Yahia Ibrahim Ishag, 27, to death by hanging on charges of apostasy for her marriage to a Christian man. Despite being prompted by authorities to recant her faith, Mariam remains faithful to the Lord. Mariam, who is eight months pregnant, has also been sentenced to 100 lashes. Her death sentence is slated to be carried out upon the birth of her child. Please pray for her safe release and that God will open doors for greater freedom of worship within the country. Pray also that she and her husband will experience God’s peace and His Spirit’s empowerment to demonstrate Christ’s love in the face of suffering. Please share this urgent need.
