PRESENTING WILLIE B. POWELL A POWERFUL MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER, SCHOLAR, URBAN LEADER AND SOCIAL ENTHUSIAST Willie B. Powell was a little farm girl born in the 1940s when education was not a priority for her family. Hard work on the farm was the natural way of life for Willie’s family, but not Willie. This determined young woman is the icon of fighting against all odds. After marrying to get away from the farm, this young woman found herself single with five children to raise. Working odd jobs in factories was not enough for this ambitious icon. While still working fulltime to support her family, she went fulltime to beauty school and nine month later, opened her own beauty shop. One would think that being a successful entrepreneur would be enough for Willie, but no, there’s more. At the tender age of 66, this phenomenon decided to go back to school to pursue an Associate degree in General Studies, At this level of her educational career, Willie became the “Star Student” at TRITON COMMUNITY COLLEGE. Upon grasping the wealth of knowledge in college, Willie decided to go for her Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in APPLIED BEHAVIOR SCIENCES WHERE SHE attained a 3.79 GPA, awarded “Who’s Who Among American College Student and awarded the highest award to be awarded to a college student, the STUDENT LAUREATE OF THE ACADEMY, WHICH WAS presented by the Governor of the State of Illinois. Willie received her B A from National Louis University. She is presently pursuing a master degree in Urban Ministry at United Faith Christian Institute and Bible College.Now this dynamic icon would like to share her story and encourage you.
