PRESIDENCY 2015: IGBO WILL NOT VOTE FOR APC UNLESS THEY CHOOSEAN IGBO CANDIDATE - Orji Uzor Kalu >We are working very hard at our mission to have a Nigerian president of Igbo extraction in 2015. >The Nigerian state must acknowledge the necessity of a president of Igbo extraction. Nigeria has been 53 years old and an Igbo man has only been head of state for 6 months. The Igbo have remained a major pillar of the ruling party. In this connection, our marginalisationis clearly not in sync with our proven abilities, capacity, patriotism and contribution to the evolution of the Nigerian state. Today, we are blatantly marginalized. Thesouth-east needs a sixth state for the sake of fairness and equity. People are looking the other way. Without truth there can be no justice and you cannot have a sustainable state. There must be sincerity of purpose. If Nigerians don’t see something wrong in the present lot of Ndigbo then we clearly have a problem. I am canvassing these positions on deep conviction and with the end of the civil war several decades ago Nigeria must prove to us that our marginalizationtoday is not linked with that fratricidal conflict. In any major political project on the scaleof what we are discussing there are always pockets of dissent. Okorocha wants to be in APC, but I don’t think APC is the answer to the nation’s challenges or desired progression. Except the APC nominates an Igboas their presidential flag-bearer then the Igbo will vote for them….(general laughter). But let me warn that the Arab Spring might be a child’s playcompared to the kind of revolution that may sweep Nigeriaif politicians don’t change their current ways and genuinely work for the socio-politicaltransformation of Nigeria. IF AN IGBO WILL GET MY VOTE IT WILL BE ROCHAS IT MIGHT NOT BE NOW BUT SURELY WITH APC I SEE ITCOMING ON STREAM IN THE NEAREST FUTURE.....
