PRESIDENT JONH DRAMANI MAHAMA WILL GO DOWN IN GHANAIAN HISTORY AS - TopicsExpress

PRESIDENT JONH DRAMANI MAHAMA WILL GO DOWN IN GHANAIAN HISTORY AS THE BEST CORRUPTION FIGHTER IN AFRICA ................................................................................................................. Solving an international problem is a process that is followed by like the doctors do for a patient. You first need to diagnose the problem and seriously analisethe stages to be followed to resolve the problem. The issue if corruption has been denying African countries serious developments for many years now. It is very easy for anyone to accuse people who are appointed by governments as being corrupt just for the fact of the position they occupy. Unfortunately, a careful read through of the various Auditor General Reports on various MDAs and MMDAs show very clear pictures that majority of moneys lost to the state go into the pocketc of ordinary civil servants and public servants, mostly very senior ones for that matter. One very important steps in fighting corruption is to exposed the perpetrators even before they are asked to refund the moneys they have misappropriated and finally prosecuting for any other fine or imprisonment if the court so deemed. This is very important because the public ridicles on such senior officers, some of whom are leaders in their societies and churches and moswues, will be a serious deterent for any other person who desires to engage in such malpractices. Since his swering in as president of the republic of Ghana, HE. John Dramani Mahama has shown strong desire to expose people involved in any form of corrupt practices without fear or favours and irrespective of whose ass is grined. This single will of stedfastness on the declaration of war on the perpetrators of corrupt practices both in government institutions and other public institutions is a very loudable posture by the president which will go down the history of the country and the continent as a whole. It is therefore important from the citizens of the country to support the president in this fight. It must be recounted in recent times when the sitting president was on national platform asking journalist who have any evidence of corruption against any of his officials should bring it to the presidency for actions to be taken but today any little report of news paper publications of corrupt practices attracts the presidents attention with immediate investigative measures instituted as soon as possible. We also had situations where the president said he cannot expose corrupt officials because that will disorganize the party that brought him to power, but today we have various known officials who are publicly exposed for corrupt practices and attending court to defend their cases while others are being pursued by the Attorney General to have the moneys retrieved to government coffers. The very recent point worthy of note are the very recent ones which all Ghanaians are privilege to and talk about everywhere. One such are the GYEEDA and SADA investigative report which was just triggered by journalist either on the social media or the print and electronic media. These reports saw the naming of very important personalities who actually come from the presidents own party and others who have been publicly exposed and are in the court process. These are the new changes which continue to hit the airwaves for sometime now and every Ghanaian is privy to what underhand dealings re ongoing within our public and civil services. Unfortunately for the president however, this very positive willingness to see the canker reduced has rather given him a backslash from the opposition who are rather using the exposees to rather tarnish the image of the president. It is however not surprising at all that the the international corruotion index of the country keeps coming down over the years. One must be very happy about the rot that was exposed at the National Service Secretariat, where many ghost names have been paid fraudulently with millions of Ghanaian cedis going into the pockets of unsuspecting ordinary workers. We are al told that over 75,000 names were espunged between September and November 2014 alone. If one can do the maths on the current t 350 Ghana cedis paid to each service personnel this will amount to 26.25 million Ghanaian cedis in such a short period which would have gone to individual workers personal accounts at the expense of the state. We can also talk about the huge numbers that were detected from the recent payroll audit by KPMG at the Controller and Accountant General Department. This exercise has saved the nation huge amounts of money and a process in underway to get rid of all those names while some officials will be appropriately reprimanded. Then follow the bold decision by the Mi Mister of Finance to contract SUBA, which initially was used by many opposition members to basterdize the president as corrupt. This single move by the government is uncovering several sim bix fraud which is denying the country millions of Ghanaian cedis every month. The recent being a whole professional and well respected individual in society, Dr. Alexander Tweneboah, whose neferious activities led to the country losing over 33.5 million American dollars within the period of just seven months. We also have an audit report from the Korlebu Teaching Hospital where a Senior Pharmacist who over the years have been milking the hospital of thousands whc totalled to about 946,000 Ghanaian cedis as at the close of 2013 which has also been exposed. These are seriously good measures that will go a very long way to deter other officials from undertaking such opportunistic ventures at the detriment of the whole country. I take this opportunity to call on all ghaaians to rally behind this president to continue the very serious but risky venture he has chosen and all his team to make this historical canker a thing at the past. Let us come together and hulk another historical success in Africa as paceserters in the fight against corruption. This will definately increase our development drive and bring much respect to everyone in the country and stop the basterdization of the president as he fights this fight. GOD BLESS GHANA, GOD BLESS PRESIDENT JOHN MAHAMA AND GOD BLESS AFRICA. By George E. Ekegey (Financial & Business Development Analyst)
