PRESS RELEASE FROM SHERIFF MIKE BLAKELY: Limestone County Sheriff’s Office as of this date, 5/1/14, will be imposing a curfew in the tornado affected areas of southwest Limestone County. This curfew will be from dusk until dawn for everyone other than the citizens who reside in these areas and emergency personnel. Hwy 72 will remain open for traffic. Limestone County has not had any problems with looting; however, as we start to decrease the presence of the number of Law Enforcement Officers in these areas this will give us a greater ability of protecting our citizens’ unsecured properties. We ask that folks cooperate with us and understand that anyone traveling in these areas is subject to being stopped and detained.
