The awards were dedicated in the memory of Dr. O. P.Bhalla, Founder Chairman, Manav Rachna Educational Institutions. As a legendary educationist and philanthropist who devoted his lifetime towards the betterment of mankind and the upliftment of society, the awards are a fitting tribute to Dr O P Bhalla’s missionary passion and zealous commitment. Dr O.P. Bhalla’sundying passion for the betterment of society did not end with the setting up of schools and colleges. He took upon himself several social welfare projects for the benefit of the community. If he endowed meritorious boys and girls, the handicapped and the economically less privileged with liberal scholarships, he also initiated a ‘Health for All’ movement that included arranging Blood Donation Camps on a regular basis and establishing free OPD Clinics, Thalassemia awareness camps and workshops for the eradication of Dengue. He was a karmayogi in the true sense of the word, so what better way to salute his vision than to institute an Award in his memory and honour. The ‘Bharatiya Manav Adhikar Samman’honours people for their outstanding performance & an increasingly important role in various walks of life including sports, media, arts, culture and community services. The All India Council of Human Rights, Liberties & Social Justice (AICHLS) has awarded the “4thBharatiya Manav Adhikar Samman – 2014” at Indian Islamic Cultural Centre , Lodhi Raod , New Delhi , on 9th December’2014, to the following eminent personalities who were given awards included Swami Gopala Maharaja for his contribution to peace, Mr. OP Chaudhary, a renowned young IAS officer for his due contribution to social welfare, SSP Dharmendra Singh from Ghaziabad for supporting the Smile project, Churchill Almeo, Former Chief Minister of Goa was presented with the mass leadertrophy.
