PRESS RELEASE THE PDR-IHUMURE Brussels on 22/12/2014 ___________________________________________________ The ordinary Congress PDR-Ihumure Party met in Brussels in dates of 20 and 21 December 2014 After checking attendance and mandates, Congress found that a quorum was seen that 28 of 42 members were present or represented. He then reviewed and approved the report of activities and projects of the statutes and rules of procedure. He renewed the entire team of the party leadership at the head of which are found among others Paul Rusesabagina, President, whose term was still ongoing, Jean Baptiste Ngarambe, First Vice-President and CĂ©lestin Komeza, Secretary General. Congress expressed concern about the situation in Rwanda in regard to human rights, political space, justice, social and economic exclusion of the majority of the population, get thee war decreed by the RPF regime and its president against all peace initiatives. Congress encouraged the Political Bureau of PDR-Ihumure to take all initiatives that make possible the exercise of freedom of expression, opinion and press, the right to peaceful assembly, the opening of the Rwandan political space, equal justice for all Rwandans and the release of political prisoners. To do this, the party has set priority directions for the new mandate as follows: Compared to the elections in 2017, the PDR-Ihumure opposes any manipulation of the Rwandan Constitution to allow President Paul Kagame to run for a third term. He will be opposed by all means to this undemocratic approach and found that could lead the country to a catastrophic situation. The PDR-Ihumure will focus on a wider mobilization, deeper and more equipped than either within the Rwandan community and internationally. The issue of refugees will be the focus of our actions and concerns. The PDR-Ihumure put a point of honor to the strengthening of the forces of the Rwandan Democratic Opposition, indoor and outdoor. The PDR-Ihumure will provide the means for more effective communication. The PDR-Ihumure provide more support to its affiliated organizations (women, youth). Regarding the situation of Rwandan Refugees currently located in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) threatened by the fateful date of January 2, 2015, the PDR IHUMURE strongly condemns the international community solution that aims to use military force instead of seeking a political and final settlement of the problem. The PDR-Ihumure reminds the international community that these Rwandans in the DRC for political reasons and should therefore be protected as political refugees in accordance with international law on the subject. Proponents of this solution must understand that it could lead only slaughter of the innocents (children, women, elderly, etc.), criminal act unworthy of a civilized international community and defender of human rights. For congress of the Party for Democracy in Rwanda, PDR IHUMURE, there will never be a definitive solution to the problem as all Rwandese refugees, including those in the territory of the DRC, will not feel concerned and reassured. All items on the agenda being exhausted, Congress concluded its work by thanking all those who helped her outfit and success. For the PDR-Ihumure Paul Rusesabagina President.
