PRESS RELEASES PRESIDENT’S BUDDHA PURNIMA GREETINGS Rashtrapati Bhavan : 13-05-2014 The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, in his message on the occasion of Buddha Purnima which is being observed tomorrow (May 14, 2014), has said: - “On the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima, I convey greetings and good wishes to all my fellow citizens. The life and teachings of Lord Buddha have universal significance. The ideals of non-violence, peace, compassion and service to humanity embodied in his teachings have profoundly impacted human history and the course of civilization. A large number of persons all over the world follow Buddhism due to its universal appeal. May Lord Buddha’s message infuse our thoughts, words and deeds and serve as a beacon guiding us on the path of universal brotherhood”. राष्ट्रपति जी ने बुद्ध पूर्णिमा की बधाई दी राष्ट्रपति भवन : 13-05-2014 भारत के राष्ट्रपति श्री प्रणब मुखर्जी ने कल (14 मई, 2014) मनाई जा रही बुद्ध पूर्णिमा के अवसर पर अपने संदेश में कहा है :- ‘‘बुद्ध पूर्णिमा के पावन अवसर पर मैं अपने सभी देशवासियों को बधाई और शुभकामनाएं देता हूं। भगवान बुद्ध का जीवन और उनके उपदेशों का शाश्वत् महत्त्व है। उनके उपदेशों में निहित अहिंसा, शांति, करुणा तथा मानव सेवा के आदर्शों ने मानव इतिहास और सभ्यता की प्रगति पर गहरा प्रभाव डाला है। इसके सार्वभौमिक आकर्षण के कारण पूरे विश्व में बड़ी संख्या में लोग बुद्ध धर्म के अनुयायी हैं। भगवान बुद्ध के संदेश का हमारे मन, वचन तथा कर्म में समावेश हो तथा यह वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम के मार्ग की ओर हमारा मार्गदर्शन करने वाली रोशनी बने।’’
