PREWORKOUT FUEL Ever wondered what you should eat before exercise? As a general rule, your choice of pre-workout meal or snack should be; 1. Rich in carbohydrates to fuel your muscles 2. Low to moderate in fat to help with digestion 3. Provide adequate amounts of fluids to prevent dehydration 4. Easy to digest to avoid G.I discomfort 5. Well-timed to prevent digestive processes competing with working muscles and 6. Include familiar foods that are enjoyable Meals should be eaten 2-4 hours before exercise or sporting events to ensure plenty of time for food to be emptied from the stomach, digested and absorbed. Lighter snacks can be eaten 1-2 hours in advance to give the body a last minute energy boost
