PRK BALINGIAN...............................unbridled cronyism - TopicsExpress

PRK BALINGIAN...............................unbridled cronyism practiced by BN leaders, racial divisions, religious divisions etc etc. In the parliamentary constituency of Mas Gading, BN divides this predominantly bidayuh constituency between biSinggai bidayuh, biJagoi bidayuh and the Salakos. No visible benefits accrue to the community in Mas Gading as a result of this division but it helps to perpetuate the false notion of fair power sharing and thus helps to appease the bidayuh from the 3 main dialect groupings. I have lived for over half a century and I cant recall one instance where the biSinggai, biJagoi and the Salakos were at each other throats over politics. In Mukah BN is now doing the same thing except they are dividing Mukah over religious lines. There is now an active and official division between Muslims and Christians in Mukah. What implications does this have for the multiracial Mukah, in particular for the Melanaus who for a very long time have been the epitome of ecumenism and inter-faith acceptance? What possible benefits can this division bring to the rakyat in Mukah? BN is not saying because that is not their interest. Their intention again is to appease the Christians because they suspect the Christian community is a tad upset with BN over the ALLAH issue and that it might linger until the next PRN. The fact is BN and the newly minted CM has no real interest in political fair-play or in giving justice to the Christian community. If that was their intention they would not have allowed Ibrahim Ali into the state. This is however not the real issue. The real issue is BN politics does not lead to nationhood because cronyism and divisions do not lead to unity and unity is the single most important ingredient in nationhood. Put simply, BN is NOT GOOD for Malaysia. Share if you agree and if you are a voter in Mukah, vote PKR in PRK Balingian.
