PRO- AMAECHI LAWMAKERS DEFECT TO APC The 24 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly loyal to Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi have formally announced their defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Leader of the House, Chidi Lloyd, who made the declaration yesterday at the Assembly, said the 24 members ceased to be members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), adding that further correspondence to them should bear that in mind. “The 24 pro-Amaechi law-makers have asked me to declare our formal defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Henceforth, all of us should be referred to as APC members. We are telling the world today that we are all members of the APC. All correspondence to us should describe us as APC members”, he said. Responding, the Speaker of the Assembly, Otelemaba Dan-Amachree, advised his colleagues to document their decision.
