PROF. OBA ABDULRAHEEMS FCC RESIGNATION; A GREAT LOSS OUT OF GREED - TopicsExpress

PROF. OBA ABDULRAHEEMS FCC RESIGNATION; A GREAT LOSS OUT OF GREED AND SELFISHNESS By: PDP Youths Stability Forum, Kwara State Chapter In Yoruba land, there is a popular adage which goes thus, Agba oki n wa ni oja, ki ori omo tuntun wo. Apologies to the non-yoruba language speakers. That adage simply illustrates as thus; the younger ones can not go astray in the presence of the elderly people. The popular saying has generally been believed as referring to all elders, especially the learned ones like Professor Oba Abdulraheem, the Talba of Ilorin, but unfortunately his selfishness, over-ambition, greed and desperate hunger for power affirm that, he is not worth being regarded as an elder. With such age as a blessing from God the Almighty, we thought what should be his aspiration is how to become an elderly stateman but his antics are even far worse than that of many young men. Without any bickering, the recent resignation of Professor Oba Abdulraheem as The Chairman Federal Character Commission to pursue his unrealistic gubernatorial dream is egoistic, useless, selfish and worth condemnation by all youths (especially the white collar job seekers) and parents. How would an old man who portrays himself as an helper leaves Certainty for Uncertainty? Forfeiting such 4 more fixed years of a position capable of helping our state, thousands of Kwaran youths and elders has glaringly shown to the entire Kwarans and Nigerians that he is not a selfless leader. A reason, while we, youths of this era can not be fooled again. THE GREAT LOSS OF THE JUICY OFFICE However, as proclaimed by the Professor of Literature in English language in an interview, that he annually used his FCC influential office to facilitate hundreds of Federal jobs for Kwarans, in our calculation, thousands of Kwarans could also be his beneficiaries if he remains in the office to complete his tenure for the next four years. It is significant to note that, if Prof. Oba is truly an epitome of developments in all its shapes as he claims to be, he would have allowed another man to bear the flag of our great party, PDP come 2015 and remain the FFC Chairman. His cockeyed resignation is undeniably, a great loss for Kwara State and even North Central geo-political zone as the position would under ideal situation be headed by a Chairman from other states and zones before a Kwaran holds it again. Alas! May be after 25 years...Sobs. Obviously, it could be recalled that it was out of turbulent hitches before the Bukola Saraki got him reinstated to the office after such synonymous antics in 2011. This was because other states and zones who were also eying the juicy position stood against the reinstatement zeal of Mr. President and Bukola Saraki then. I hope there is another mighty Bukola Saraki to do the same 2011 magic for us now. And who could that be ooo? THE PROFESSORS ANTICIDENTS; INCREDIBLE AS A GUBER ASPIRANT Records from his past places he has led like University of Ilorin, Kwara State Polytechnic and even the FCC reveal he is not a conflict and crisis manager, he is not a worker friendly leader and not staff welfare promoter. The simple verification are not hidden and far-fetched. He sacked 49 lecturers in Unilorin and hundreds of lectures in Kwara State Polytechnic advocating for better welfare package for themselves and colleagues. The same unfair justice affected the some of the students leaders like Comrade Rasheedat and Victor recently vindicated by Supreme Court couple of months back, thereby costing University of Ilorin millions of naira as damage cost for the students comrades who were victims of 13 years Professor Oba Injustice. It is also widely true that the Talba of Ilorin is not an embodiment of equity in the discharge of his duties and distribution of his good wills. This is owing the fact that he only satisfies his family, friends, tink-tank political associates, Okekere and Okemale fans with jobs but not the generality of Kwara and Kwarans. What is the future of Palace (Afin) part of Ilorin Emirate and other parts of Kwara State if this egocentric man emerges our governor? We have also read and heard of several financial mismanagement saga committed by this self-acclaimed man of God but this our press statement isnt aimed at discrediting one of our freedom gladiators but spitting out our bitterness on his ludicrous resignation. We urge all of us in the freedom struggle to remain steadfast and ready shine and strengthen our vision more so as not to be lured and deceived by incredible candidates who were so labelled by the leader of APC as nocturnal politicians by always be available every four years of election time by luring our thumbs with chips and run away get distant election triumph. PDP! Freedom and liberation dole!!
