Herb was born in Seattle, has a BA from the UW in Philosophy, BD, MA and PhD in Philosophical Theology from Yale, and taught philosophy for 40 years. He retired in 1999 and moved to Vashon in 2010. Interested in the problems of the area, he took a trip to Israel-Palestine in March of this year with the Tree of Life Educational Foundation to meet with both Palestinians and Israelis committed to peace through non-violence. This presentation is based on that trip. Strawberry Sales Preliminary Report The booth grossed $3,806; sale of berries to others $1,375; known expenses $1,720, approximate net income $3,481. Last year George sold the surplus on VashonAll. If succeeding this year we will have more income. George’s summary remarks: “I am pleased with the amount even with adjustments. It was not an ice cream weekend. Under other conditions we could have earned another $1500 or more. The booth was looking great and the product was the best of its type in the Festival. Thanks for all your efforts.” I would add, thanks very much to George for superior management & hours of on-site support.
