PROPOGANDA: Over the past weekend dozens of pro e-cigarette comments appeared on a post about e-cigarette marketing and advertising having an affect on youngsters. All the comments were made in the same 2 hour period (several days after the initial post) so clearly it was as a result of a level of coordination. Most were aggressive and simply anti-Allen Carr based on prejudice and ignorance rather than fact. Worse than that - when we researched the people who posted their comments it became clear that many (if not all) were involved in the marketing, advertising, or selling of...e-cigarettes. While praising the power of e-cigarettes and claiming that hundreds of people they know have been freed from smoking by using e-cigarettes they all failed to disclose their interest and direct involvement in the e-cigarette industry. Its frightening that there appears to be an organised group/groups posting bogus positive e-cig testimonials across the internet. Quite why theyve targeted us - who knows? Weve obviously upset the industry - which is weird given the key objection to e-cigarettes that weve expressed (other than why bother with them when it can be easy to be free from nicotine entirely) is that they should be prevented from marketing and advertising to kids...who in their right mind would disagree with that? We dont delete comments on this page but the bogus testimonials have now been hidden and those who posted them who we discovered had clear, undisclosed involvement in the e-cigarette industry have regrettably been banned. Make no mistake - you can say pretty much what you like on here as long as its true, legal, and as long as you declare any kind of interest in the nicotine industry at the start of your comment. If you are a genuine supporter of e-cigarettes your comments are welcome - but its simply not necessary to attack Allen Carr in order to make your point....and please - only attack us for what weve actually said NOT what you think weve said.
