PROPOSED KOBAPE HOUSING ESTATE LAND SPACE INCREASED TO 120 HECTARES The Ogun State Government has increased the land space it intended to use for the proposed Kobape Housing Estate Scheme from 50 to 120 hectares. The State Commissioner for Housing, Mr Daniel Adejobi who made this known during an interview today in Abeokuta, pointed out that the decision was made to accommodate more people, assuring that the estate would be provided with infrastructural facilities to make living abundant. According to him, government intends to replicate similar housing project across the State, affirming that where necessary, government would collaborate with mortgage institutions to help prospective buyers, particularly, civil servant access loans to buy the houses. Adejobi who indicated that the mortgage could be spread over a period of 10 to 15 years, pointed out that since the inception of the present administration, his ministry had embarked on several projects including the construction of a modern mechanic workshop at Obada-oko, Totoro Health centres, renovation of legislative quarters and the completion of OGTV media village. He added that the Ministry had also undertaken consultancy services for fellow ministries and agencies. “We have also embarked on the preliminary work of the Abeokuta city centre, which the Urbanisma group from Malaysia have been invited to draw the plan. This would be described as a modern city inside an ancient city of Abeokuta.” Adejobi stated.
