PRSF Member Share Liz Momee Hi everyone, My son just turned 4. PRS, complete cleft palate (repaired), bilateral myringotomy tubes placed 4x in both ears, oral/dental procedures w/ one extraction & now just found out that we may need to do yet another set of tubes. The last one was only 4 months ago. He is not having any luck w/ the tubes staying in ears & the last two sets have fallen out in short amount of time. The immature & dysfunctional Eustachian tubes cant release the pressure. Anyone else struggling with tubes falling out & how many times have you repeated the procedure for your child? My son is at risk for collapsing ear drums, rupture of ear drums & cholesteotoma. I hate to keep putting him through surgeries but if we dont, that carries very high risks as well.
