PSA: I have whiplash from the accident but the kids are fine, even though they were closer to the impact. They were all in 5 pt harness car seats instead of boosters. Jacob is still rearfacing. Im following the height and weight limits in the car seat manual, not the law, which is a bare minimum. The harnesses restricted their movement. If they had been in a booster seat wearing a sealbelt, their injuries would have been worse than mine. Ive read about kids dying after minor accidents due to internal bleeding caused be seatbelts. They are in the same seats they have been in since we switched them from infant seats, except for Rachael, because her seat expired. They are not expensive seats. They rearface up to 35 pounds and forward face to 55 and 65 pounds. You dont have to buy the most expensive seats to keep your kids safe. The convertible seat you already have is probably fine. Keep your kids safe!
